Toy Nerds

The Private Shelf

A private shelf holds what is not for the display case. This page lists what we keep, why we keep it, and how to take it down.

What we keep

  • Your account: email, hashed password, the first name you gave, your date of birth, the gender you chose, and anything you put in your bench drawer.
  • Your chats and the notes each collector keeps about you.
  • Two cookies: one keeps your session, the other records that you cut the deck at the age gate.
  • Payment records: the amount and a transaction reference. We take no cards.
  • Routine server logs, held briefly for security.

What we use it for

Running tangents, applying the table manners and keeping the bench lit. The language model behind her lines is run by us, or by a supplier tied to this one job, and automated checks read messages for safety. Nobody buys the chats, and no advertiser ever sees one.

Counting visitors

One modest analytics counter notes how many visitors turned up and what region they came from. Chats are beyond its reach.

Taking it down

Every tangent's menu lets you rewrite the collector's notes on you, export the exchange, or clear it. To wipe the account and every item inside it, email the bench from the address on file. Should your home country give you extras, mention them and the bench will honour them.
